Extraordinary Conservation!

Responsible Wildlife Conservation Travel

Shivani Bhalla started Ewaso Lions in 2007 with a focused mission: “Ewaso Lions conserves Kenya’s lions and other large carnivores by promoting coexistence between people and wildlife. Ewaso Lions uses sound science, education, and capacity building to foster support for conservation and help guide the long-term conservation management of lions in community areas.” She is not just an accomplished conservation scientist. Shivani’s infectious enthusiasm draws a wide variety of people into the Ewaso Lions family – engaging the local Samburu communities, wildlife officials and the owners and managers of nearby safari lodges. But it is our travelers – those who have spent time with her – who brought her to our attention. Please click Ewaso Lions to learn more about this extraordinary wildlife conservation team.

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust – Nairobi & Tsavo, Kenya

In 1977, Daphne Sheldrick established the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to honor her late-husband’s extraordinary dedication as the founding warden of Kenya’s Tsavo East National Park. The Trust has become world-renowned for its pioneering success with rescuing orphaned baby elephants and nurutring them until they are ready to be re-introduced back into the African bush of Tsavo. In addition, the Trust is firmly committed to the marginalized communities living on the borders of the National Parks and Protected Area within the Tsavo Conservation Area.
