It’s easy for me to tell you why I love to spend time in nature, watching and photographing wild animals and their habitats, and traveling to exotic locations to pursue this goal.  Indeed, I’ve spent my entire career studying and working to conserve wildlife, so why would I stop now?   I’ve been lucky to be able to travel to six continents and 35 countries to pursue my passion for wildlife and nature.  Part of the attraction for me is the fascination I have with the incredible, awe-inspiring wonders of nature and my desire to live a life based on real, not virtual experiences.  With the possible exception of books, I take the old saying, “Collect experiences, not things” seriously. Having an African lion look you directly in the eyes not more than a few feet away from your vehicle is not the same as watching lions on TV from the safety of your couch.   Even for a seasoned wildlife professional, like me, such experiences can literally send a shiver up my spine, which is more out of respect for these powerful predators than fear of them. I get a similar reaction when picking up a large preying-mantis or observing a new species of butterfly in my garden.  It’s called “biophilia” or love of nature, and some people believe that it is innate in humans.

This is precisely why Tom LaRock and I have created World Safaris—so that we can share these unique experiences with our travelers. Let us help you experience the world’s best wildlife destinations easily and safely.  We would love to help you reconnect with nature through wildlife travel and make a difference for wildlife and people at the same time – but more on that later…
